Practice Manager
Kate Jones, our Practice Manager, joined the practice in 1997. As well as the routine administrative requirements of any small business, Kate does much of the behind the scenes work to help ensure the practice keeps up to date with a variety of issues – Health & Safety, Clinical Governance, Care Quality Commission Outcomes, Radiation Regulations, Employment Law etc – to mention but a few!
Kate has worked in dentistry since 1993, originally as a dental nurse, attaining her National Certificate in Dental Nursing in 1995. Kate was appointed Practice Manager in 2004, and will sometimes still be seen on reception, and even occasionally nursing – but only if she really has to!!
Dental Nurses
Alex Wood has worked as a dental nurse since 1990, and gained her National Certificate in 1994. Alex has been with the practice since 2000, and is a very experienced dental nurse. However, Alex’s talents don’t end there, as she fills a dual role working on reception as well!
Claire Barron qualified as a dental nurse in 1986, and has worked in many different areas of dentistry – general practice, hospital and community services. Claire joined us in 2010, and her experience and enthusiasm is a great asset to the practice. Claire specifically enjoys working with children and dentally anxious patients.
Both Alex and Claire are also trained to work with patients having dental treatment under sedation.
Cathy Head joined the practice in 2015. She qualified as a dental nurse in 1985 and has many years experience working in both general practice and the special care dental service, where part of her role was to assist in the care of dentally anxious patients.
Lyndsay Duffee qualified in 1998 and over the past 20 years has gained her nursing experience in a variety of different practices. Other than an extended break to raise a family, Lyndsay has been a dental nurse since leaving school, and is the most recent addition to the nursing team, joining us in July 2021. Lyndsay enjoys all aspects of her job, particularily the interaction with patients, and is keen to assist the dentists to ensure the patients experience is as positive as possible. Outside of work, Lyndsay is married with 3 children who manage to keep her busy!
All our dental nurses are qualified and registered with the General Dental Council as required by law.
Reception Staff
Rachel Iles is our principal dental receptionist, and for many patients is their first point of contact with the practice. Having joined us in 1996, Rachel’s caring, sympathetic and understanding approach have helped to make many patients’ visits to the dentist an altogether easier experience. Indeed, many of our patients now regard Rachel as their friend/personal confidante! Rachel’s broad knowledge base allows her to answer most queries patients may have regarding treatment.
We hope that this gives you a good introduction to who we are, and helps to reassure you of our experience and commitment to you, and your care and treatment. Our aim always is to provide high quality dental treatment in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, and to promote the value of good dental health.
We are committed to continuing education and training for all members of staff, to ensure that we continue to deliver a high quality service to our patients.
